“An essential, visionary and technically innovative project… For his first collaboration with the famous Italian design house Zanotta, French designer Patrick Norguet has designed a visionary, innovative project.
DAN is more than a chair – it’s an evolving concept.
Its base is a minimalist steel frame combined with different types of seats, of different shapes and materials.
In its most radical, technical version, the DAN chair offers a seat and backrest made of flexible elastic straps.
Borrowed from the automotive sector, these straps are both comfortable and robust.
Pared back to the extreme, the Danse chair embodies a search for the essential.
The thin, bent steel tube structure looks like a sketch, like a pencil line in space.
The Zanotta logo is printed on the first seat strip, on the right side.
In this project, we find the DNA of Patrick Norguet: his taste for the beauty of the mechanical component, assembly and functionality as well as his rejection – with a few exceptions – of any embellishments sometimes lead us to believe that he is the worthy heir to the principles established by Adolf Loos a century ago.
Radical in his quest for purity, Patrick Norguet is poetic in his sensitivity towards products and meticulous in his sense of detail.
Patrick Norguet on Dan: “In an age of standardisation, it has been important for me and for this project to return to what is obvious, simple and singular.” “N.B.
The elastic straps can be personalised with graphics or text on request.”
